Western Electric Coordinating Council is approximately 6,000 SF of high technology and high security office space. They coordinate and promote electrical system reliability for 14 states of the Western United States and territories that cover into Baja Mexico and Canada. With this responsibility they are "live" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The requirement created a unique office space that needed to be fully functional by itself and yet comfortable for staff to be there at all times. The Control Room has a monitoring wall that is viewed by control stations placed on a raised computer floor. The Data Center has redundant and back-up systems for power and cooling. To protect the essential computer systems, the Data Center uses a dry chemical fire extinguishing system. In order to maintain levels of security there are security check-points throughout the space that includes offices, training, copy, break rooms and open office space.
